Cooking in a DVC villa

I think it's almost certain that the next trip we take would involve a 1 or 2 bed villa, provided we get to go!

Thinking that we'll actually make the most of it and make some meals in the kitchen. Has anyone here ever done that? Is it easy to do and did you find everything you needed (non-food wise) in the room?

Or did you find when you got there you couldn't actually be bothered? 😂

I've never cooked anything other than toast in any DVC villa but there's always been plenty of pots/pans/utensils etc in the cupboards.
You'd maybe want a sharp knife though - think I might have struggled to cut up a caramel apple in the past.

We were in a 1 bed when Hurricane Dora came through, we were likely to be confined to our room so stocked up on food stuffs.

We cooked a full breakfast and later had jacket potatoes, ribs, salad.

Had all the utensils we needed, the pans were all stainless steel and not very non stick. Had enough cutlery and implements to cook with.

We make sandwiches up a lot of days, either back at the room or to take into the parks.
We often also get some pasta, mince and sauce in and make up a pasta Bolognese the first proper night as we are tired and can’t be bothered with the faff of eating out that first night (day after arrival day).
We have breakfast in the room every day.

I often make breakfasts, pancakes and bowls of fruit to go with them, omelettes, eggs etc. usually because I'm the first up and ready so I do it while everyone else is getting ready.

I've never done any 'actual' cooking in one, we'd all much rather go out.

We sometimes eat in the villa for a change but it doesn't involve any real cooking as I'm on holiday. It's more bringing back something like Publix chicken and cooking some pasta to go with it.

Edited to add: we eat breakfast every day which is mainly cereal, fruit, muffins that sort of thing.

We were definitely in the couldn't be bothered clique! Bought the stuff & never used it! We probably "cook" more in our Studio then we did in the one bed!

Sounds like a few have had a go then. I guess we have to have the full DVC experience!

YT we're the same on arrival I just can't do a proper meal out that evening. Have done it before in the spirit of 'i'm on holiday' and hit a proper wall. Then just don't appreciate the experience. Lately we've just got a quick service meal especially if we don't get to the hotel until late.

Maybe DIY spag bol or a pasta bake on night one then!

We often cook although tend towards a ready made lasagna than real cooking. But the kitchen are very well stocked and most items look unused whenever we have stayed.
