BA fly drive but don’t pick up car
I’m wanting to book a package with BA rather than just flight only, we don’t need a car this time and the hotels we like are far more expensive with BA than booking alone. I was wondering about either booking a single night car hire and not collecting or a single night hotel and again not turning up (I would contact them once at the alternative hotel we booked to say we weren’t checking in). Has anyone done either of these options and were there any problems?

We have used the flight and car hire option a few times and not picked up the car. No issues at all.

You don’t need to tell them. Just don’t bother. You are just a number in a vast database. You will be marked as cancelled after a set amount of hours. No one will even register you haven’t turned up, or even that you were meant to turn up if you don’t trigger that database when picking up the car.

As everyone else has said, just continue your journey without the car. It will be fine

I’ve looked at that and may do but the Sofitel is most convenient but also quite expensive. We did premier inn last time but not sure if I can be bothered with hassle of getting to and from PI when we arrive at 5 and leave from 5 and Sofitel is right there. Plus it’s my sons birthday the day we travel so will be better if less messing around. It’s an expensive hotel though when we arrive late at night.
