Noisy villas or are we just unlucky?

We have stayed in villas twice - both over Xmas and NY. They were in Championsgate and Emerald Island. The neighbours both times were just so noisy, screaming and shouting in the pool until about 1am. We were obviously quite tired the first few nights and up really early so barely got any sleep. It has really put me off renting a villa again, or were we just unlucky? I know people want to have fun in their pools at that time of year but it ruined our holidays a bit.

Are there any resorts with really spaced out villas where noise will travel less?

You were very unlucky. I'm sure most resorts are like ours and have a quiet time.

Our community has a strict 10pm noise curfew
You can still sit on the deck or swim but quietly but we are mixed residential and Short term rental and only one 6 bed villa that’s lived in full time
Most of the time we are the only ones outside on the deck

I deliberately chose villas that had nothing out the back but it was still very noisy either side. I want to go this Xmas but too nervous to book another villa.

We’ve also been unlucky. 1st villa was residents, shouting over road to each other, kids out on street until midnight. Luckily the bedroom was on the other side of the houses. 2nd villa was fabulous. 3rd was an apartment, music on, shouting, singing on the balcony until 3am. It has put us off going in an apartment again, it really was bad, at least in villa you can shut it out a little.

Weve stayed in many villas. The only one where we had this problem was Emerald Island.

I live in a community that is a combination of full time residents and short term rentals. I would say you have been unlucky but also that you are probably far more likely to get noisy neighbours in the communities that have alot of 6+ bedroom houses. They are less likely to be residential and more likely to be rented out by groups that are planning parties during shorter stays.

One good thing in Florida though is that the Sheriff's office will actually send someone out for noise complaints late at night. I had to do it once for a house that isn't even in our community. They had a professional DJ system on the pool deck for a party!

The only 6 bed on our estate has a blended 3 generation family full time its the quietest house on the block
We’ve stayed in community’s that have huge homes or just STR and they can be noisy as everyone is in party mode and also in huge homes and heard nothing
Oh and we have to gag the Gdks sometimes till after 7am by/the pool it works both ways

I once had this in Windsor Palms (ans I’ve stayed in maybe 40 villas in US). I shouted out the window for them to be quiet (they were in the pool after 10) and they did in fairness.

It sounds like you have just been unlucky in the villas that you have had in the past. Our estate is a mix of residential and rental properties and like many others we have quiet time between the hours of 10 pm and 7 am. Our guests have always remarked how quiet our estate is and we have never had a noise complaint.
