Advice for buying
Would love to buy a condo/apartment in Orlando as a long term investment. Would ideally rent out When we are not using it but long term goal to spend 3-6months a year there when we retire.
There is so much knowledge on the DIBB but we have No idea where to start With buying, are there any forums you could suggest for newbies advice & tips also pitfalls to avoid etc? Thanks in advance |

You need to find a realator that you can trust and work with, trust is the most important thing as they will be working on your behalf to find you the best place to suit your needs and budget and not just try to sell you somewhere so they can get thier commission.
You need to start your research by finding out what area you want to buy in and what you want to do with the property if you are going to go down the rental route, the buying is the easy bit it is the renting out bit that can be complicated and expensive. There are many things to consider when renting out and a great management company is the biggest thing you need to secure to look after your home while you are in the UK an MC and be the making or breaking of your Florida dream so you need to be sure you have the right one before you commit to them. The only thing i can stress is you need to research and research then do more research before you do anything it is essential you go in to the process with your eyes wide open knowing that everybody out there wants to relive you of your hared earned so make sure you are 100% certain before you pull the trigger on any purchase. I found this document a useful guide when i was looking to buy it does give you some useful info. polktaxes/forms/Cent...ationGuide.pdf Drop me a PM if you have any questions and i will try to answer them for you.
