Very happy with the result, he was consistently excellent throughout and seemed like a wonderful person. I wasn't a fan of his before Strictly but loved him by the end I disagreed that he wasn't 'emotional' as I always felt moved by his dances (the rumba made me cry), he emoted through his whole body, it's not all about gurning.
I'm personally gutted that Anita wasn't in the final though instead of Katie, I'm convinced her and Gleb would have given us a more spectacular show dance than the four we got last night. I'm always fascinated by people who cry 'fix' when their favourite doesn't win. What on earth would anyone have to gain from Jay winning, except Jay himself? Many people claim fix and put forward 'evidence' for it but never actually present any valid motive for them to actually fix the result. Would it not make more sense for them to fix it for one of their employees (Kellie or Katie) to win rather than a random boybander who has zero connection to them whatsoever.

She's married to someone else but I'm convinced he's got a real thing for her. They were an amazing partnership and I found she became so much softer with him than she has been before. When they were announced as winners I almost felt like I was intruding on a really private, intimate moment. It was very strange. But her husband was in the audience so...

I also think there is a bit of personal chemistry between them.

Jay's pulp fiction jive was amazing! I couldn't take my eyes off the tv screen! But Kellie was also fab-u-lous! Wasn't keen on the girl from Coronation Street but was thrilled Anton finally made a final!

I agree, the way they looked at each other was so intense, you almost had to look away! Even my very unromantic dh said wow they have something there !
Not sure I could have watched them if I was married to one of them! Hope he doesn't get his heart broken, he seems so sensitive .

If people want the best dancer to win then the judges should decide not the public!

I hadn't known she was married until I read yesterday. You're right about the way they looked at each other. Suppose it's the amazing partnership they had.

Not really. Half the time they disagree with each other as they all look for different things in a dance. The fact is you can't really judge which one was the 'best dancer' as there are so many criteria. Especially when they're all doing different dances. Kellie did a Charleston and a lindyhop, both real crowd pleasers. I'm sure if you look at average scores for every dance i would bet that charlestons get far higher marks overall. So people raved about Kellie in the final but it left me totally cold. It just seemed like picking the easy option as we all know she's great at gurning and giving high energy and having fun but I don't think she really demonstrated any grace or elegance at any point in the contest which I think is really important.
Personally I think on balance of the series Jay was a more than worthy winner, but I think Georgia and Anita would have been great winners too. |

Aliona has quit the series apparently. Loved watching her choreography, a shame.
