Dibbers who have stayed at both OKW and POFQ
Hi Dibbers,
A question for those of you who have stayed at both Old Key West and PO French Quarter. Prices on a dummy booking for next May (OKW only available up until then atm) show OKW and POFQ about the same price. We need 2 rooms at POFQ as there are 5 adults, or alternatively a 2 bed villa at OKW. We want to have DDP so would upgrade at POFQ. My question is, which resort would you stay at if you have the choice and the prices were the same with the upgraded DDP at POFQ (no need to do this at OKW) We've stayed at POFQ and loved it but the boys are older now and I think they may enjoy OKW. What do you lovely Dibbers think? Obviously it depends on availability when our dates become available but we're undecided. Many thanks.

We stayed at both and would say we preferred OKW. Loved the boat transfer.
For us POFQ was overrated. Plus our room stunk of smoke and as 2 adults it wasn't great for us, too child orientated. The Housekeeping also left a bit to be desired, but must admit it was quite a few years ago now. We loved OKW but were thankfully upgraded. x

OKW... quiet, nice big rooms, transportation I didn’t have a problem with and like Nicksgirl says the boat transfer is cool.
Also if you’ve already tried POFQ then go for something different this time, worth a try. |

I haven’t stayed at POFQ however the 2 bed villas at OKW are fantastic. There’s loads of space, a full kitchen, laundry and a good sized balcony with a table and chairs. It’s great having a living room too so the whole family can sit together in the evening. It’s also a lovely resort. Definitely OKW!

We stayed at POR and OKW definitely OKW, its so lovely and bright great pool boat to DS, we would of stayed there this year but didn't do the dates with Free Dining so we chose CBR to still get a bit of the beach vibe going on 😆

We have stayed at both and signature says it all - have booked AKL for next year but will be swapping it for OKW as soon as we can.
We also have splashed out a little more and had a 1 bed villa - never going back to anything else now (unless free dining goes). POFQ is lovely setting, on the river, great food hall and boat to DS is great, but you get a boat ride to DS anyways from OKW, and the journey is shorter too. Cannot beat OKW 1 bed villa, but I am sure the standard room is large as well.

This is great to know! We stayed at POFQ last year and loved it, but have booked to stay at OKW this year due to free dining etc.

I'd stay at OKW
I loved that resort it felt relaxing whilst having day time activities for little ones if needed. The bus service and boat service were great and the buses aren't shared like they sometimes are at POR & POFQ during the day. 2 bed villa will be fantastic and offer you a lot more space than two hotel rooms at POFQ.
