We've been May - August. It's always been hot but the hottest was the May. It was so bad by mid morning we felt we couldn't breathe walking down the strip, but you just hop from air conditioning to air conditioning, even if we didn't really want to go in the place. In the May we got up with the sun and sat out for a couple of hours or sat in the shade in the evening.

DH suffers from heat exhaustion, within 30 minutes of landing the first time when queuing for the hire car. We now take rehydrating tablets that you buy over here in Amazon or in outdoor shops and he pops them in his water bottle which he has to sip all the time we are outside.

Margarittaville next to Flamingo have a daily happy hour from 5 - 6 where you get 5 cent beers... yes... 5 cents!

They let you buy 2 per person at a time ;-) Change from a dollar for 4 drinks lol! Enjoy xx

we enjoyed it in August and took 2 teens. I had previously been there for work and as a girls long weekend so its possible to do for a short space of time i.e. 3 days - personally I would struggle to do more but last time with kids we drove from LAX so if you get your avios flights its possible to go to LAX and drive if you want to go anywhere else as well?
Also gave us change to drive out to the hoover dam and grand canyon

It's our first trip next week celebrating hubby's 30th (so excited now! ) and as much as I love the heat even I'm slightly concerned about the current heat but we are planning on being inside most of the time exploring the hotels so hopefully won't be too bad. We have booked a Grand Canyon helicopter trip that leaves at 6am so will be there and back whilst it's still slightly cooler than midday and afternoon temps.

We are also staying at the Venetian so will let you know what it's like when we get back :-) we are spending 4 nights in Vegas before flying on to a week in Mexico so intend to make the most of our time there before sleeping on the beach for a week!

We are also not intending to hire a car and use the Deuce bus if we need to as a 3 day pass to jump on and off is pretty cheap!

I cant see how any one could be disappointed with Venetian. We love it. So jealous. You can also keep cool in the Grand Canal shops and they are nice to wander around. We use Uber and its very cheap if you fancy that option but for the strip you will be ok. Have fun

Aww that's such a shame! We went last week of March and found the queue looked worse than it was - took us about 10 mins to get served but was quite fun watching the crowd! Good luck for next time x

Will definitely let you know! Would love to do a trip report and might be manageable only being a 4 day trip in Vegas...I only got 4 days into my Orlando 2015 one...
