Oh love huge hugs. Not sure what information you have been given but the Liver is a very durable organ. My husband was found to have cirrhosis when he was 13 and it was managed well with steroids until he was 29. Keeping everything crossed its easily managed.

Other than the damage is not reversible I wasn’t given much more information. The dieticians should be able to help with long term outlook.
I’m still struggling to comprehend what has happened.

The scan confirmed gall stones but he didn’t mention the enlarged liver. The blood tests also showed reduced liver function.

My Dad was diagnosed with 1st stage cirrhosis, the scarring won't go, but his liver function is back to normal with an improvement in diet and a complete restriction on alcohol. He's never been a heavy drinker, always staying within the weekly guidelines, think its just a combination of factors and a bit of bad luck, but it was only a few months at most before they saw a massive improvement, hope you get to see the dietician soon and you're feeling better.

Dietician is pleased with my progress, I’m seeing a specialist 3 days before my holiday next month to discuss a cholecystectomy.
