Which car hire companies let you pick

I wondered if you could tell me which car hire companies let you pick the car from the row.

Alamo - skip the counter and pick your own car.

Avis - if you are a Prefered member it lets you skip the queue and go straight to the garage and you can then pick a car from the row your class of car is. Use Prefered all the time and it is free to join.

Has something changed recently ?

Normally with Avis your class of car is allocated in advance and your name on the board detailing the car park space number the car is parked in.

You can use the app, though thats subject to availability and supported at the location of pick up office.

Yes, that gas always been my understanding and actual position with Avis, there is a car swap lane if you don’t like your allocated car, but not a choose any car from your row type collection

Dollar let you choose your own car, that’s assuming you’ve survived the visit to the rental desk!🙄

Oops, sorry if my reply was misleading yes they do allocate a car but they have a swap lane if you are not happy with it but from my experiences the cars always seem to be newer - lower mile cars, some of the other companies we have use have out of state cars with bigger miles on and feel well used.

Note.. The swap lane at MCO and TPA have gone Q2 2018.

Is the swap lane for Avis still available in Miami?
