I had to watch some youtube videos, but it's quite easy once you know how (you do need 2 hands though).

On the main catch screen, before you throw a ball (making sure you have the right ball selected). Hold with left finger/thumb the ball select icon, and drag it to the left (keep holding on the screen).
Throw ball as normal with right finger (don't have to hold right finger on screen)
Once it hits the pokemon, let go of your left finger, tap the screen once, and then select the 'flee' button in top left.

This exits you to main screen, and you will have either caught it or not. I don't recommend doing it for ones you really want to get, but if you are just catching loads for the XP or whatever, this speeds it up.

It's been out in the UK for a couple of weeks now, unless it's your model of phone that doesn't support it?

Yea that's what I thought, it's a Sony xperia xa1 with android 8... Does it need am updated version of android I wonder?

I just looked on the WU page and the XA1 isn't compatible with the game but some sources are saying that if you update from android 8 then it will work. So I'm not sure if it would defo work or not if you somehow got an android update
