The toilet thing seems to assume that you will have queues of people waiting for the toilet but the reality is that people will go in occasionally and you’ll hardly notice.

Thanks again , we always have flown TC PE so Virgin and Ec Delight is a whole different experience. There is currently an empty aisle seat nxt to us on way out so maybe we can hope that remains empty.

We flew ec delight at Christmas and were near the toilets. It didn’t really cause all that trouble to be honest. You can’t rely on the 3rd seat being empty but we were luck as was a lot of others. Just keep an eye on it and the upgrade price. It can go up as well as down.

I think £240 for an upgrade to PE is not bad.
I wouldn’t worry about the seat being close to toilets / galley etc. I often find the seat guru sites show this as an issue but in my experience it’s not a major issue. I often prefer to sit at the back of the plane as it’s normally quieter but if you look at seat guru reviews they often say don’t sit their. |

Then you have to be adamant that you have to communicate across them

We have previously had the back row (a row of 2) as there are only two of us. Yes, near the loo but that was no problem. We could recline without bothering anyone which was nice.
I may be in the minority but PE was awful for me. I am a big lady, and the fact you couldn’t move the armrests meant I felt far more squashed than in Economy. At the end of the day it is somewhere to get you there. You will be fine, I’m sure.

What a selfish attitude. Where would you expect them to sit if not in the seat they were assigned? As a solo traveller I hope I don't get stuck next to you on one of my trips.

You are trying to make a scenario such that if there is a spare seat, then it ends up next to you. That isn't being overly selfish.
If somebody is allocated the middle seat you then offer them the seat of their choice from the 3 you have been allocated between you. To me that is quite reasonable as an offer, and quite reasonable of them to accept your offer and have their choice of seat. They get either window or aisle or middle if they so want, and you actually get to sit together. Said person is also within their rights to plonk in the middle.
