Vegas - which hotel

Hey everyone

Off to Vegas next April for my best friends wedding and I'm trying to decide where I want to stay. The wedding is at Caesars Palace but the bride is staying at MGM Grand and there are also a few hotels that I have always wanted to stay at, so my choice is from the following all at roughly the same price:

Bellagio - Deluxe Room
Caesars Palace - Augustus Tower Deluxe Room
Mirage - Tower deluxe room
MGM Grand - West Wing King Room
Wynn - Panoramic Suite King

I have always wanted to stay at the Venetian but sadly it was just too expensive! So which one would you choose?

last time i went to vegas i stayed in the mirage, but the year befor that i stayed in the hilton (right at the end of the strip) and i must say i found the hilton sooo much nicer, and if i was to ever go again once im 21 i would deffinetly want to stay there again!
although the hilton is away from the main strip, it is still easily accesable as you can pick up the LV monorail from the convention centre

I can't believe The Venetian (or the newer Palazzo) was more expensive than The Wynn (or Bellagio) rooms you mention?!

Of those listed - the MGM room is not up to the standard of the rest - but it would be considerably cheaper, normally.

I have stayed at Caesars twice - and been distinctly underwhelmed, to be honest. It suffers from a shocking layout too - very confusing.

Not stayed at the other three - but I'll say, with some certainty, that if they are all comparably priced, The Wynn will be best value. The Mirage room wouldn't be up to the class of The Bellagio, I very much doubt, either?

Have you considered The Signature at MGM?

I agree with you I was surprised myself but the Venetian rooms started from $300 a night whereas all of the above were around the $200 a night mark.

The Wynn is definitely the best value as it is a 745 sq ft suite and does look lovely but I have always wanted to stay at the Bellagio!

Signature at MGM was another possiblility actually but I ruled it out as I didn't want a timeshare type room - is it good there then?

They seem very high prices - probably because you're booking so far in advance, but even so... could I ask what sites you're looking at, please?

The Signature comes really highly recommended from virtually everyone that has stayed there - it's a 4.5* suite development, of three towers, on the back of the MGM Grand. The beauty of it is that the suites contain kitchenettes (some have balconies, virtually unheard of in Vegas) and their own pools, separate from the wonderful MGM pools themselves...but you have full use of all the MGM facilities still. A nice place to relax, it's non casino - but you're only a short, air conditioned, people mover trip from the MGM and the casino. I think it's rated Number 1 of all Vegas properties on Trip Advisor too.

I was just looking at the Hotel websites then once I knew where I wanted to stay I will shop around for the best prices. Note though that cheaper rooms were available these were just the particular rooms I would stay in if I were to stay at the hotel.

Sorry can't help with your list, we haven't stayed in any of them... we stayed at Mandalay bay and thought it was fab, we're going back in January, the pools are fantastic, although it may be a little to far for what your looking for!

I believe all the rooms at the Venetian are classed as suites! A good friend went for his Honeymoon there last year and the room was considerably cheaper than the Bellagio or Wynn (which were his original 2 choices)

The standard room in The Venetian is a 690 sq ft suite.
The standard room in The Palazzo is a 720 sq ft suite.
both have a sunken room feature too, plus two TV's in the dining/bedroom/living room areas - plus a TV inset into the mirror in the bathroom! And a telephone in the bathroom too... you cannot imagine the fun these are!

If you follow the discounted rates (use the Vegas sticky at the top of the page for ideas where to get these) The Venetian was going for $109 + tax recently. The Palazzo was $129 + tax. They are incredible prices for what's on offer - they are genuine, 5* properties. I've stayed in an upgraded room at Caesar's Palace, and it doesn't begin to come close - yet cost about the same, if not more, than The Venetian/Palazzo. They will, as you say, geberally come out cheaper than Wynn or Bellagio - Bellagio rarely discounts its rooms, which must be testament to its popularity though, one must say?

If I were getting married in Vegas - I'd look to stay at The Palazzo or The Signature. Either would be excellent, and great value for money.

Just back from a stay at the Signature - Tower 2 Upper Penthouse, 1 bed suite - it was fab

We booked direct with the owners.

Can certainly recommend
