I just booked vegas last week for June 2010 and I am staying at the Mirage for 7 nights..it looks lovely and two weeks after we leave my sis is jetting out with her bf to the same hotel! can't wait to see the erupting volcano..my other choices were the MGM Grand or Mandalay Bay but chose the mirage as we got a better deal

We stayed at the Hilton for a couple of nights in May before moving onto the MGM. The Hilton was far cheaper at the weekend and is on the monorail route so you not far from the action of the strip. Would do it again to keep the costs down... moving around different hotels in Vegas is easy and very acceptable.

The Trump is a non casino hotel too. It's further from The Strip, and doesn't have the advantage of the use of the MGM Grand's amenities either!

The Signature wins hands down, I think?

I really like the look of the Signature, it does offer the best of both worlds. Will have to see what price we can get nearer the time.

I have to disagree - Circus Circus is in the worst area of the strip almost a mile walk to centre strip, and don't get me talking about the smell and how your shoes stick to the carpet ! There are so many better hotels that cost hardly any more money.

The hotels in Vegas are so tall with hardly any having balconies I would rule this out as you are limiting your choices.

Good value = MGM, TI, Mirage, Paris, and New York, New York all centre strip.

MGM is ideally located, its on that "crossroads" and close to lots of other casinos that you can just walk to. if you want cheaper tropicana is across the road, older casino but the rooms were lovely and they have great shows in there. whatever casino you stay in will give you money off vouchers for their shows when you check in.

the rooms in luxor were really nice but so hot! and it didnt have a bath...

planet hollywood was aladdin when we went but the casino was lovely... i would stay down that bottom end of the strip and dont stay up in circus circus (which was full of kids when we went). stratosphere was nice to visit but a bit far away from everything else to stay.

Hope you have a great time. You'll have to let us know how you get on. Would love to hear what you thought of the MGM and what room you had. What things are you planning when you are out there?
