Remember I didn't move 'just' for the $75. I had been put into a difficult position by Disney where I didn't have the 'leave alone and enjoy a fully running resort' option. My choice was between a set of less than ideal options. Pop is under refurbishment too? Whereas someone who might choose to grab this offer from another resort could instead have done nothing and had a properly operating resort to enjoy.

Actually I wouldn't even question people who moved from other resorts either, the offer is on the table and people can make an individual calculation whether they fancy the move, the inconvenience and the cash, enough to do it. No one is twisting anyone's arm.

In my case our bill for 10 nights at CBR (16 night hol in total) is £2912 for CSR, DDP and 14 day passes.

Take off the £760 in gift cards ($75x10+$200), the £1259 the DDP would cost and the £897 for the passes and we are now getting our hotel room for free.
I'm sorry it this came across in a bad way - In don't think its a bad idea to move to CBR - I think its a GREAT IDEA

The one post I read from the guy moving from pop he was up +£400

AND please read this post from the main cbr thread I wrote.

As we are only there a week and have a lot off meals booked in the parks it really wouldnt bother us to stay there. We will be too busy too spend any time on site. As there are 11 off us and we have 3 rooms that would be a considerable amount off disney souvenirs we could buy. And it would free up the rooms for people wanting to move.

PAPAMOUSE:
ABSOLUTELY - that's a great way to turn this steaming pile of lemons into lemonade!

someone upgraded from POP and the upgrade cost + the credits meant they were + £400!

call them up - I think they will be glad of the extra rooms at POR to be honest.

well done for spotting an opportunity

3 rooms x 14 nights x $75 is $3150 lovely free spending money

hit the phones - then call Alan Sugar, he says - YOU'RE HIRED

hear that sound - that's opportunity knocking"

There is always a way to turn a negative into a positive and if it works for you grab it - I wasn't being judgemental, I think if it works for you - it works and well done for spotting it.

We were there mid/late august=fabulous

Purely as I'm nosy -who did you book with?
I hope you have a super holiday..
I'm with Virgin this time for the pure fact it was initially booked for 2016 but we were trying for our second child and needed the flexibility, along came our daughter and we moved the holiday to 2017.

When we moved it we booked CSR then had a look a while later and POR was cheaper so moved over.

I can't wait but I am slightly concerned about how bad the bus situation will be but we will manage!

Thanks, and sincerely, best of luck re your efforts on the double bubble, it looks like Disney woke up to their own inconsistency.

Looks like the ppl who got £50 refund will be okay - but at the exact same time, ppl were offered $75 to stay - and now they are offering the $75 for even new arrivals - and Disney seem to have reneged on that now.

So the goodwill gesture for being in a resort not knowing abt construction versus someone booking now and being offered as an incentive seems like another mis match...

another mistake by Disney it seems.

I am really not that bothered about the free upgrades - on the one hand there has been a big fuss about it but on the other hand I get that people pay a lot of money to stay on site so the price has to be right for the facilities which are available.

We're staying at AKL, and that isn't a resort which is being filled up with people being moved from CBR anyway.

Staying at POR and it did occur to me that it will be busier due to people being moved from CBR, but as someone else has previously pointed out had I not been aware of the CBR situation POR could have just been busy

It really makes no odds - its not like they're asking guests who booked POR to put people from CBR up in their rooms lol.

Anyway I really feel for the people who booked CBR and think Disney have dealt with the whole situation very poorly!

Surely these renovations aren't something just decided on a whim, they must have been planning for some time, so did they not arrange it for a future date, say in 2018 before rooms went on sale?
Or at the very least have a proper plan in place to deal with those who are effected for either organising a move or compensating those happy to stay.

I know I would be very disappointed if I had booked CBR
