Dogs now allowed at 4 WDW hotels
As much as I love dogs I do hope they will have pet free rooms. I know universal allow dogs already and you can request a room that has not had a dog in it. It’s Not cheap though at these hotels YC, WL cabins, por riverside and aoa.

Me too. We’re at Riverside next year and I must admit I’m not thrilled by this news.

Disney allowing dogs at 4 resorts
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) — Four hotels at Walt Disney World Resort will allow guests to bring dogs beginning Sunday.
The hotels near Orlando, Florida, are Disney's Yacht Club Resort, Disney Port Orleans Resort-Riverside, Disney's Art of Animation Resort and cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. The Yacht Club adds $75 to daily room rates for canine guests, the other three, $50. The pilot program is accepting reservations through October 2018. Two dogs are permitted per guest room. A Pluto's Welcome Kit includes a mat, bowls, pet ID tag, plastic bags, puppy pads and dog walking maps. Doggy day care and other pet services are offered nearby at Best Friends, an on-property pet care facility. Disney says dogs staying in its hotels "must be well behaved, leashed in resort public areas and properly vaccinated." Not sure how i feel about this tbh - my OH is massively dog phobic and this would terrify him if he was stopping at one of the 4 hotels |

Well I love dogs but I certainly don't want to stay in a bedroom where one has most likely been on the bed or on the sofa. Lovely as they are, dogs smell.
(I didn't really appreciate this until I no longer had dogs.) I hope they have specific doggy rooms or I won't be staying at any of those hotels! I think this might put off more people than it attracts. |

I am sure there will be only a small number of rooms set aside that dogs will be permitted in, most of the others will be dog free and available to those that request it. The dogs permitted will most likely be service dogs, which have to pass a temperament test
I apologise, I have just read up on this story. It appears that non service dogs will be permitted in these 4 x hotels - not restricted to service dogs Edited at 06:05 PM. |

I'm really not happy about this, staying at POR from Wednesday, as much as I'm sure Disney will have it all sorted, not convinced I'm not going to be disturbed by barking dogs !

The chances are they will have a tiny number of dog friendly rooms. Aren't dogs already allowed at the universal hotels? And I've never heard comments from people saying there were dogs everywhere or smelly rooms.
I always like giving a dog a fuss when we're on holiday, I miss it over the 2/3 weeks we're away. At $50 per night though it sounds like another Disney money making scheme. Edited at 06:01 PM. |

We were at SSR and then RPR during and after hurricane Irma this year. We noticed a lot of dogs in both and was told that due to the hurricane Florida residents were allowed to check in with any animals to keep safe and whilst electricity etc was reconnected, I love dogs so it didn’t bother me and there was no smell in any of the areas. Our room in RPR had been used by a family with a dog before us didn’t smell or anything.
In RPR dogs (on the lead) were in the lobby and around the small bar area.

I believe they're allowed at Portofino and HRH from what i see on other boards - must admit i didn't know that either and won't stop there; its not to do with allergies for me, fortunately i don't suffer, but my OH is dog phobic and even has problems knowing that service dogs are there
