I think perhaps people dining there ought to be allowed though, if they wish.
Totally agree with you.

There is a bit of beach left but not a great deal of space.

I never have agreed with the idea of people going there to watch Wishes who werent residents of the hotel but have never commented on it before as lots of people on the Dibb asked about doing it. We stayed there in 2009 and had problems finding somewhere on the beach to settle and watch the fireworks.

We didn't stay at the poly but had dinner at ohana one night and watched wishes afterwards. We were there sept/cot and there was plenty of space on the beach - everyone was able to get a sun lounger and there were loads available once everyone was seated. Was looking forward to doing this again this year so I bit upset at the thought that we may not be able to

But look at it from another perspective. If you 'd just paid £20,000 for a DVC contract there and you found it difficult to find a lounger to watch the fireworks due to offsite visitors or worse still, your patio furniture had been borrowed by offsite visitors you wouldn't be best pleased would you.

I have purposely booked Ohana for the Fourth of July so we could see the fireworks after, however I would not go and just watch the fireworks if not at the resort , especially at a peak vacation season or day.
However now it seems it won't be worth it... but we love the meal anyhow.

I wouldn't go there just to watch the fireworks either but I enjoyed going there after a meal at Ohana. I can understand them turning random people away but surely if you've just paid good money to dine at a hotel restaurant they'll allow you onto the beach?!

I think fair enough.

I'm not sure that dining at a restaurant should entitle you to beach access.

You can watch fireworks from inside the restaurant as well can't you? We've never done it, but I also thought they piped the music to Wishes inside Ohqnas too.

Once all the construction work is completed, maybe they will consider opening the beach to TS diners. Or maybe, with all the changes they're making, there won't be the same space available as there was in the past.

Ultimately, people staying at the resort have to come first. Since it reached the point where guests had to hide patio furniture in their rooms - which actually ends up with them paying for an inconvenience rather than a perk - then it was going to have to change anyway.
