Major Building Work at Wilderness Lodge

There's another thread on this with the plans and it looks extensive. I'm flipping staying in September with my dd for her first visit. I'm not impressed as I specifically chose this to avoid construction, my thinking being the pool area has just had a major overhaul. Question is do I stay and risk they'll be late or do I move us? !

I saw it on the Disboard. There is a thread about it with info and plans that have been submitted, don't think I am supposed to link, but it's in the disney resort forum section.

How long will the works go on for? And will woods view room cease to exist?

I'm gutted. We were supposed to be going this year but I've had cancer so had to cancel and were planning on july next year. I can't imagine the work will be completed by them and even if so, our woods room won't be a woods room any more :-(

Thank you. I know the board you mean so I'll have a read. I've emailed Disney - I doubt they'll tell me anything but worth a try I guess!

Thank you - from what I can see it's going to take 2 years unfortunately. It's annoying as we only transferred our booking about a week ago and disney didn't say anything despite knowing why we were doing it.

There's no way I'm spending that kind of money to stay in a hotel with construction. We normally stay off site but fancied trying a split stay but really wanted the boat/closeness to MK and poly / contemporary / GF are all too expensive. Oh well, life just keeps throwing the crapiness at us!

We are due to stay her for 9 nights in December! We picked this hotel because it is supposed to be beautiful at Christmas, I'm not sure what to do now! I would love a heads up with any information and people changing resorts. We only plan on doing Christmas once, so I am so tempted to move!
