Toy Story Land
Just wondering if they've made any change to their "summer" opening or if it was a specific date yet?

Still no change on the Summer opening.
So it could open any time between the end of May and the end of August (although I'd guess early in Summer rather than later based on the rate of construction).

They didn't announce Pandora's opening date until February this year, so I wouldn't expect anything much earlier than that.

They'll likely do a soft opening first, for AP and DVC owners, before opening fully. I suspect they'll be hoping to be open for memorial Day (end of May) but if it slips 4th July instead.
They are not the quickest at building stuff, and it often seems to take much longer than initially expected. Which is ironic when you consider they built the entire magic kingdom, the Contemporary and Poly, and the infrastructure in about 18 months. Now it takes that to convert the Great Movie Ride to Mickey and Minnie ride.

There are several reasons it takes longer now than it did then: construction standards have changed, health and safety laws have changed, and the technology being used for the new rides in these new constructions is far more complex.
Also consider that when they were initially building WDW - they didn't have to account for hundreds of thousands of visitors on property at any one time. I'm still not sure why it takes as long as it does - but I can understand why it takes longer than it did. |

The building work for Toy Story Land has been fairly quick (although obviously not as fast as when they built MK). By the time the land (which has two brand new rides) opens it'll have taken just over 2 years. That's quicker than it's taking Universal to install the Fast & Furious ride.

Plan for it to be late August, hope for it to be pre-Memorial Day weekend as per usual.
