Universal Studios has a great water play area for kids. Busch Gardens has a decent one too.
The water rides at Universal you get absolutely soaked (though you do dry out quick in the sun) so worth consideration for those too |

I cant stress enough, bring extra socks and underwear for Bilge Rat Barge and to a lesser extend Dudley Do Rights Ripsaw Falls. Id also recommend wearing flip flops on both.
I was basically lying in the sun in just shorts after Bilge Rat for 15 minutes trying to dry out |

Went to IOA for the first time in October... first ride we went on was Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges. Got off the ride beyond soaked, it started raining... we went home back to the villa.
Tickets wet, wallet wet, cash wet, phones wet, camera wet, trainers ruined, spare clothes wet, upset cold kids, ≈≈≈≈≈≈ed off wife. All my fault apparently. Waste of a morning. make it the last ride of the day !

We just take a change of clothes and don't worry about wet trainers. A bit of water won't bother them.

If you are going in summer they will dry really quickly and to be honest the cool down will be a welcome relief!
My ds got absolutly dripping at the Fantasyland play area but soon dried off in the August heat!

When we knew the kids wanted to go into the water area at Universal we took extra clothes for them to change into.
Last year did Popeye 3 times in a row with the kids, was totally soaked and didn't care, you dry out eventually The wife hates wearing wet clothes but it doesn't bother me and the kids, Id go round and round on Popeye if I could, its my happy place
