End of August dibbers!
It's probably been asked a million times, but how do you find last 2 weeks of August both weather & crowds? We've booked to go back next yr for October half term, but I've realised DS2 isn't off as long next year so I'm gonna have to change to August which I'm a tad worried about as we've never been at that time of year. My main worry is the heat! We usually go in the cooler months but it's just impossible now, are flights very expensive too?

I love heat so I may be the wrong person to go by, but it isn't bad at all. So long as you keep hydrated it's fine

We went 21/08-04/09 last year. Crowds were fine, certainly not "quiet" but when is it ever. Weather was hot hot! But I'm a pale red head and coped. Second week was overcast and showers/threatened storm for a few days then back to hot.
If you edge into September you can get great flight prices. I paid £600 direct with Thomas cook. X

It's always very warm but you do benefit from reduced crowds compared to start of August!

Someone on here described August as living in Satans, which I think is very fitting.
As for flights, if you are on the ball you can get some good deals. We went for heathrow to Miami for £370 for an adult and even cheaper for the children. |

Been this time the last two years, it was only when we arrived last year I remembered how hot is it, sorry to be a grumpy git but I've promised never to do it this time of year again, if the choice is between August or nothing, I choose nothing, I am completely nuts about the place, I have zero criticism apart from the heat, I/we hate it! But from what I've read the vast majoritie are fine with it so ignore my opinion
