It always amazes me when people say they feel safer taking a cab than uber (although I suspect it's those who haven't tried it). Most cab companies don't allow you to track the journey or supply the name and registration number and make of car in advance.
I find most Uber's are a lot cleaner than cabs too.

Until I researched Uber/prices, I wasn't aware how much cheaper they are, understandable why many utilise Uber vs theme park car parking charges plus petrol.

A friend's collecting us at Fort Myers airport in November. Uber price check on the 20 mile run to his home to pick up our motor, a surprising $27, guessing that'll exclude the $2 toll onto Cape Coral. Airport to our Bokeelia home, a 40 mile trip, Uber fare $48. Pine Island Taxi charge $75 plus tip for an airport run; no contest, Uber wins hands down.

I appreciate London cabbies must feel aggrieved after The Knowledge and hard work/finances they put into their businesses. Also appreciate that old saying about competition being good for business but doubt it applies in this instance with fares substantially lower than black cabs.

We had a bad experience with them back in January we used lyft and had no problems at all on the last day I had a voucher code for uber so used it to order a car for the ride back to the airport the guy arrived on time but saw we had luggage and point blank refused to put it in his boot incase it scratched anything and then just drove off which meant I had to cancel so he still got paid so I could then order another...I did contact uber and they were great they refunded and credited extra into my account

I don't think you can use prepaid credit cards such as Revolut, however you can buy gift cards from places like publix which work well.

Best thing we found using Uber apart from the price was getting into an AC car after a hot day and the time it took to get an Uber and be on our way back to the hotel. Normally we were on the road within 5 minutes of getting out of the park.
