We did MNSSHP for the first time last year and are back there again in October again this year.
For our day last year, we had a morning at epcot with a few fastpasses and then back to Poly at lunchtime for QS lunch and then back to our Poly room and shut all the curtains and forced us all to have a nap. We probably only managed half an hour to an hour but was enough to recharge our kids batteries for the evening ahead. Kids dressed (6,8) up but we didn't but think we'll all dress up this year. Went to MK about 4pm, got our party bags and photos and QS meal for speed - we were on the dining plan but decided for a QS day and a signature another day to avoid time of a sit down meal which I'd recommend. Main things we noted for the party for this year were: 1. Kids are into MNSSHP so got the party cards at firehouse at 7pm in case we forgot later. 2. Kids weren't hugely into character meets, but did meet their dressed up ones (Jack Sparrow and Cruella) - queues weren't too bad for them at about 20 mins each - Jack/Sally, Dwarves and Moana queue were horrendous! 3. Ride queues were very short - more or less walk on for all of them but 7DMT was still 30-60 mins all night. 4. Candy was great - we weighed it with luggage scales the next day and had 7kg between 4 of us. We had a rucksack (small decathlon one) which we decanted nearly full bags into during the night. Some candy stations have 2 or more 'dips' from buckets but some are just one - best ones we had were tiki room and circus tent ones. 5. Fireworks and shows - we did early parade and show but was our first time but would do that later this time. Fireworks were great and loved the 'perimeter' fireworks (and luckily got to see them several times from the Poly beach where you get the music played for them) Our kids lasted to the very end but were completely done in, so need a lazy day after it, but worth it to try to stay to the end where we were dancing with the tomorrowland dance party bit at midnight to a selection of late 1990s dance classics - a great end to our day! |
