Anyone picked up a car on site at Disney?

Thinking of collecting from Alamo at the car centre at Disney World. I would want to collect pretty much from when it opens in the morning. Is the shuttle service pretty reliable? Is the choice of cars as good as if collecting from the Airport? We are staying at Saratoga Springs.

We were never given a choice but were happy with what we got (7seater) we couldn't get through on the phone as you have to give them notice of when you want to be picked up. but got guest services to try for us and it was there within minutes.

We used it in Jan, you didn't get a choice of car so ours wasn't quite as new as the one we'd picked out from Mco previously. We also had a problem getting picked up from the contemporary as we hadn't pre booked so i would recommend calling them the day before or so.

We are picking up from the Dolphin and have done so previously. Don't need to worry about getting shuttle buses as we will just go to park as normal then get bus from MK to Dolphin to get the car. Then same when returning it. Get bus to the park after we drop it off.

We didn't get a choice last time and wondering what we will get this time as have just booked the cheapest !

we've picked up from Disney Car Care Centre every time we have rented for our WDW trips. You should pre book the shuttle 24hrs before. Our shuttles have always been reliable. Not always any choice of cars but we've often had upgrades as nothing left in the class we booked.

When you return the car they will drop you back anywhere on Disney property.

Have already booked our car for next years Fall trip

We did this earlier this month - no choice of car, we just got given keys and we drove away. The car wasn't in perfect condition, but it was fine and we had booked the cheapest class. We got guest relations at MK to call to arrange shuttle for us (no credit to call a US number) and they were happy to do this and we got given a choice of times to be picked up from the Contemporary (basically one every hour) - if you want to be picked up first thing I would call the day before. When dropping it off they asked us where we wanted to be dropped off and then the next shuttle bus that came in took us to Hollywood Studios as we had requested (Our shuttle bus driver was completely crazy, I loved him!). For us it was perfect as neither of us had driven in America before so we didn't want our first experience to be after a long flight when we were both tired!

I haven't picked up my initial rental car there but I have swapped out a car that had a slow puncture.
I wasn't too concerned about the slow so poped in there after the MK. They didn't have any Luxury cars on site and offered me a Suburban.
No thanks I don't want a canal barge!
Went back the next day and spotted 3 Cadillacs out the front. Went inside and asked for the Gold one which was the newest and so I got it.

I have been out the back where all the cars are kept the previous day so they could pump my tire up. The reason they wont let you around there to select your own car is because it's dangerous. Far too busy and vehicles appearing from everywhere after valeting and washing.

The desk clerks there 'service' Alamo & National and are much more chilled out than the Airport.

Sorry to jump on in, we are picking up from DCCC next August. Couple of questions, we will be getting an Uber from our villa can we get dropped off right outside or to a park? I don't even know where it is in WDW 😳
Also if you don't like the choice of car they give you can you ask to swap? We've booked a Full Size SUV, so assuming Tahoe or similar?

We've done this, it's no problem, but no choice of cars. I would suggest booking the shuttle the night before. We went at Christmas and assumed that we could just summon a shuttle. They actually only ran at 1.5 hour intervals, so we had to wait a bit.
On dropping off we were given a whole shuttle bus to ourselves and asked where we wanted to go. Our lady driver was lovely and we chatted all the way to MK. It's a great service and no pressures to upsell at all.

The CCC is right by the toll plazas to the MK. Your Uber driver will take the left hand lane just before the plazas and swoop into the area where the Speedway gas station and the CCC is.
Have a chat with the desk clerk to try for what you want. Dont ask dont get!
