I'm another one who thinks BA do a good deal albeit I can get cheaper than them for DIY?
However it's getting harder by the day to get a good car hire deal albeit I think things will calm down in the near future, hopefully!
Hi yes it's £4k, for 4 adults and 2 children over the 2018 Easter holidays. I felt that with a 7 seater car (which I've seen separately for about £700) was a good price?

I had tracked the 2017 prices and I never saw them much cheaper (although I may be wrong?!)

Hi I cant see anyone calling you stupid or did I miss something

The problem is if your good quote only has basic insurance then it is not a good quote as you then have to factor in the extra £700 for insurance.

You can hire a car for less than £700 inclusive of the insurance you require.

The way virgin operate is a rip off they give you basic insurance which the car rental place will not allow you to drive away with untill you upgrade or sign a form which basically signs your life away.

So you need the insurance upgrade
But if you hare a car seperately it will come fully covered.

Yes i understand that (I did say that in my original post), which was why I was asking if there were any cheaper alternatives for the insurance elsewhere. If not, no worries,I will leave it and wait for a more competitive deal

Not bad in my view. As you know the add on insurance will be the killer. I don't fly at Easter as our children are 30 and 28 so we keep away from school holidays but I do know seats aren't cheap at that time.
I suppose the thing is are you happy? If so go for it but don't check prices again!
What are your equivalent DIY dates for 2017 coming in at with VA as opposed to a flydrive? Are they less than £655? If so I would hold fire.

Bottom line is that you won't be able to diy book Easter flights for 2018 for a long time to come therefore your quote you have is a very good price regardless of what you do with the car hire...

No Lemag that is my present signature ( a quote) I change at regular intervals to quotes I find amusing.
Thought all realised under the line was a signature,I'm changing soon hopefully next one doesn't offend anyone but heyho I may quote the original source so all know it's not mine.
My last one took the p%#s out my dyslexia.
