Quite happy to pay for speedy boarding if it was worth it, but does not sound like it is

Do you think then if we queued up as early as we can we would sit together? Have no other option of getting there unless travel to London which is hours away.

Cannot believe they would be allowed to put an 18 month on their own
You will be fine as long as you queue up after the Speedy Boarders are first called.

I have flown EasyJet (and Ryanair ) quite a number of times and its usually very straight forward - basically, if you go with the same attitude and expectation as catching a bus you will be just fine.

Easyjet is much better than Ryanair IMO...

So can I just ask, having never flown with Easyjet or Ryanair or any "low cost" how does it work.

Obviously you check in your luggage and go through to departure as normal.

How do you exactly know which gate to queue up at? Or do they say put over the intercom speedy boarders for Barcelona please queue up and then you get up and join the queue.

Sorry to be so thick but genuinely have no idea.

Would you say this side or Barcelona side is the worse?

Don't worry, it will be ok.
The staff are not there to make things difficult for you ...

We just queue up behind the speedy boarders which then ensures that we get on straight after them. If you wait until the speedy boarders have all gone before queueing up, you run the risk of not sitting together. maybe even if one person stands int he queue .. take turns?

Where are you flying from and on what day? I don't think it's the same day or place as me so i won't be able to help though.

Oh thanks for being such a sweetie and sorry to be a pain.

We will fly from Bristol on the 3rd September.

What I will do is queue up with DH but tell him when the doors open just run run run and forget about me. As long as he gets us a seat together that is fine

On another forum they have said the med waters can be choppy which has worried me. Never wanted to cruise but DH wants to and of course because it is disney it has swayed me.

For you guys who went this August, was the waters too bad?

Can you tell I do not like planes and boats

If you pay for SB you will get a good shot of the seats, even if you end up being bused (we were too at BCN) along with non speedy boarders because at least you will be on the first, of probably 2 or 3, buses.

As far as the other services; like your own check in line and your luggage being off the plane first, its very hit and miss as to whether you get any advantages over other passengers ...

If its a genuine concern then I would pay it... we are not bothered about sitting together but I appreciate there are many who are.

The only bit of choppy waters we had was in the Bay of Biscay but I don't think we're going there next year. It was only for a few hours and those that suffered just took a tablet and felt fine just afterwards.

I presume you've flown before so you'd know that you can't run towards the plane! As long as you queue behind the speedy boarders, you'll be fine.

Of course its no guarentee, but when we were on the August cruise, I was surprised that the Med. sea was actually flatter/calmer than the Caribbean sea in February.

Hi, thanks again

If the cruise next year is Barcelona to Barcelona I assume we will not go near the Bay of Biscay?

Also sorry I meant when we get off the bus near the plane DH can walk alot faster than me, if he positions himself near the door entrance he will be one of the first off. I am such a nightmare

Oh thanks, fingers crossed. I have decided on a verandah (restricted viewing one) since first cruise and nervous

we didnt pay for speedy boarding but there where 2 queues at BCN when we came back this year. we where really early ( i have a 'late' phobia) so where amongst the first to get in line ( but not the first)
We boarded immediatly after the first lot of speedy boarders who where there when the gate opened. The girls and I got a row of 3 and DH got an exit seat at the entrance ( long legs!) Couldnt have been better if we had picked the seats beforehand.
I have flown with EastJet, BMIbaby and Flybe a couple of times. Ideal for short haul.
