My Highs & Lows - Transatlantic Crossing
Where?... Transatlantic from Barcelona to Port Canavarel, Florida
When?... September 18th, 2010 to 2nd October 2010 ...plus 1 night at The Mariott Renaissance, Barcelona beforehand and 5 nights at The Hard Rock Hotel, Orlando after the cruise... Ports: Barcelona Gibralter Madeira St Maarten Tortola Castaway Cay Port Canavarel Highs... 5 days in a row at sea... wonderfully relaxing Glorious food and endless cocktails/champagne (esp. half price mimosas) Cove Cafe... great coffee, great service and great company Dinner table mates... what a fab bunch of people! Fantastic service across the ship... helped that Mark appeared to know all bar staff by first name... The incredible weather and smooth crossing we had...couldn't ask for better! Getting to know a fabulous bunch of people beforehand and cruising with 400 friends... and making lifelong friends into the bargain... Staying at The Hard Rock...still my favourite hotel, just love the people and the great rooms Our free car upgrade to a Ford Mustang Convertible...yeah baby! World of Harry Potter... seen it at last! Lows... Has to be the our awful travel adventures!... Diverted to Madrid just as we were about to descend into Barcelona due to bad storms... sat for 4 hours on the tarmac...eventually arrived at hotel at 3 am... Our home flight cancelled by Virgin due to a flap malfunction (we were eventually told) and poor customer service not helping at all... I really can't think of any lows on our actual holiday... if I'm nit-picking, the table service could have been better but they were both fairly new and after a firm 'word' from one of our party they did improve and try harder  Also, the fact that the main cabaret shows were held in the main theatre in the evenings (so many adults) meant Rockin Bar D etc was anything but 'rocking' at night though we tried our hardest! Maybe DCL should entice the adults back down to the clubs by offering a late happy hour after the shows...  All in all, THE best holiday we have ever had... and if we had the money we'd be booking next year's westbound cruise too...

Oh I wish I could V... but we both have the 'big' Birthdays next year and have big plans... don't think we'll be going anywhere in 2012!
 It was fab though and you'll love it!

Mandy, I'm so pleased you had a good time.
Aren't the Mustangs fab...we had one too  I wish you'd consider going for 2012, we might get to cruise together
