Hagrid ride

Here at the moment and tried to get on Hagrids today. The ride was down right from the start of the day, we waited 75 mins just to see if it would open, it didn't. Opened sometime around lunchtime with a 120 minute wait, but on the park maps it is actually printed on them that the ride closes at 3pm every day, very disappointed as really wanted to ride this, we went on Friday last week also and the ride was down most of the day. We have one more day to try again.

We couldn’t get on it in summer.
It overheats (or was doing). Thus they can’t run it all day.
It needs shutting down and rebuilding/ redesigning in some areas by the looks of it but it’s all over the advertising so they’ve had to keep it open.

We also went Tuesday but didn't get there until around 6pm and it was 45 mins showing for the queue. On & off in 30 mins. Also did rope drop yesterday and again showing an hour but we were on and off in 30 mins again ! Just did it this morning too so 3 times in 2 days. Sorry picalily, not rubbing your nose in it honest, we've probably just been very lucky but shows it is possible. Hope you get on, it really lives up to the hype.

We just got back to the UK on Sunday after two weeks out there.
We were staying in WDW at the Yacht Club but spent two days at Universal & one night at RPR, last week (Monday & Tuesday) to get the Express Passes.
Our first day was spent primarily at US & then popped over to IOA on the train before walking back to US for the parade & then heading back to the hotel.
Went back to IOA in the evening to see the Christmas projection show on Hogwarts & ride FJ.
Hagrids ride had been down most of the day & when it was running it was showing a 3 hour wait time, we had resigned ourselves to not riding it as we were not prepared to stand in line for that length of time.
We saw the projection show & then rode FJ & were walking past Hagrids, there was a crowd of people hanging around outside & we could hear the ride running but nobody was being allowed in.
After about 5 minutes & with it now being after 8pm & the park being officially closed, they opened the ride & we along with everyone else who was hanging around got on.
Apart from the room just before you board the ride we walked straight on.
Don't want to say that they do this every night but if you really want to ride it, you may want to try hanging around at the end of the night especially if its been down a lot during the day.
We both loved the ride, the acceleration is something else & it's very smooth.

Did Hagrids today. Opened at 10 app said 45 min wait. Time i caught the train over it had gone up to 90
Decided on single rider. Had to line up outside with the stsndby for about 20 mind then the line splits. From there i had yo do a seat check (i could only sit on the bike. Im 6ft2 38w i think it was my long legs that stopped me grtting on the side car but i fitted fine on the bike)
I was then directed to the bike line for single rider and walked on... Whole thing took 30 min max.

I was shocked how many people could not ride though the side car especially you need shorter legs and a thin chest. The bike long legs ok.

We queued today and got nearly to load and the ride went down. We waited an hour but gave up. This was about 1.30. Think it started again about half hour after that. It was still running at park close. We’ll try again tomorrow.

its interesting the comment about it 'overheating' we were there a few weeks back and had 2days in the parks and a night at HR..it coincided with a drop in temp that weekend.

The first day the ride was down for 2hrs, we queued and waited it out...we were told it was due to the cold temperatures, it eventually opened and from that point on it was 3hr wait. The next morning, exactly the same...the ride is very good, but the issues are frustrating

Hi, managed to get on today as single riders! Got right to the front of the line, only 6 in front, by 10 then the ride went down for over an hour, eventually got on at 11.20 after 2 hours 10 minutes in line. Really good ride and glad we got to ride it.
