That really makes sense, it was a very similar style.

I thought the first episode was slow but 2nd and 3rd episode were better. I even shed a little Christmas tear towards the end. The lady that played Mrs Cratchett was excellent, the part was very well written.

I absolutely loved this adaptation. I enjoy watching things that are a little in the dark side and thought that Guy Pierce's acting was amazing.
I always watch and read A Christmas Carol every year and throughly enjoyed this version and will definitely watch it again.

I thought it was excellent! Different but interesting take on the story. Some really good acting and very spooky and atmospheric.

It hasn’t surpassed my favourite version though with Alastair Sim😀

I thought it was ok but altered a bit too much.

The best version has to be the musical one with Albert Finney.

I can't work out why most of the characters names were the same but they changed the name of his sister from Fan to Lottie.

I wasn't keen on the headmaster sexual abuse storyline.

A Christmas carol is my absolute favourite Christmas film. I’ve just started watching this - is it not worth bothering?

We finished watching it yesterday. We thought it needed an extra episode, as it seemed a bit rushed towards the end. A different interpretation of the story, which added an unusual perspective.
