Itinerary Help

So far we have flights booked for our summer holiday.
Flying in to Nashville and flying out if Atlanta. It is going to be a city, mountain and beach holiday combined.
The plan is to visit
Nashville - Smokey Mountains - Beach x 2 (not sure where to go first) then Hilton Head, visiting Savannah and finishing in Atlanta.
We are away for three weeks
The first beach stop is where I am stuck - I am looking at Myrtle Beach, however it looks very commercialised and I have heard a few negative reports. Can somebody recommend a safe, clean place to visit that has access to a lovely beach and nice restaurants and attractions.
All help and advice greatly received.

We are also doing the Smokies and HHI this summer. After reading very negative reports on Myrtle Beach we are not bothering with there.
Have you looked at the Golden Isles (St Simons Or Jekyll Island) in Georgia, or the Panhandle of Florida?
We are doing a circular route in and out of Orlando, taking in Hilton Head, possibly St Simons, the Smokies, Atlanta and Destin
Will be doing a pre trip report soon!

If at any time you go south, I would reccomend Pensacola Beach and also Destin in front of the Henderson State Park. Both are as good as any that you will find further south.

If you go that way, The Naval Aviation Museum at Pensacola is world class (and I have been to most).
