You are unlikely to find any insurance policy using the term in this day and age.

Good luck with that. 'Act of God' is a defined legal term in contract law which is why the phrase is used.

I took out insurance yesterday and spent an hour checking out the finer details!

We're covered for Major Incident or Terrorist Activity. Also volcanic ash, and closure due to drone activity which is a clause they told me they have recently had to add! We're also covered if the foreign office advise against travel to the area.

That sounds just like the insurance I’d like. Unfortunately I’ve bought annual insurance so don’t want to change it now before my holiday. Who did you insure with?

I took out the Barclays Travel Plus policy. We already have phone insurance with them, so we get a discounted rate of £16 a month. That includes RAC homestart too (I currently pay £17 just for joint AA cover! ) And 6 lounge passes. You can cover yourself, partner, and any dependant children under 23 who are in full time education. Must be taken for a minimum of 6 months. Doesn't include supplier insolvency, but we're flying with BA so I'm hoping it won't be an issue... And we've paid on a credit card anyway. £50 excess, £10m medical, £5k cancellation, £1.5 possessions, max 31 days away. Must start and end trip in UK
