We bought a sightseeing pass which worked out good vallue and we missed some long queues. We bought a separate ticket for the Top of the Rock as we wanted to go up at sunset and on a previous trip all the tickets had been issued and we missed out. We also booked The Vessel so we were guaranteed a slot anytime on the day.

We are going to New York next week...and I have just booked for the Vessel...the tickets are free and you have to book about two weeks before...it was really easy.

We bought the New York Pass, you can cram as much in as you want with that. We had the pass for 3 days and I think we did 10 attractions, plus HOHO bus.

We booked online before we went on the husdonyards website. You can get a ticket on the day but we saw many disappointed people who didn't get one as they only issue a certain amount.

We looked up the prices of the attractions we wanted to do online (seperately) and considered the Pass but paid seperately instead as it worked out more cost effective for us.
TIPS: - I would check the map to see what you want to do & try not to spread out too much in one day. Try to do atrractions that are close to one another on one day, if that makes sense? - Allow a good half a day for Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island. If you get the audio tour, it makes it far more interesting in my opinion. It took longer than we expected, when you factor in the ferry times etc. Don't be expected to do lots of attractions in that same day. - Not sure if you want to visit BOTH the Rockerfellar AND Empire State. Similar view really. If you decide to do both, go up one at night! - Central Park is a must visit IMO. - The NYC Subway system is far less complicated than the London Underground. We found it super simple to use. Although it's a bit dated, we found this guide useful tripadvisor/ShowTo..._New_York.html - NYC has sooooo many great places to eat. Be sure to research before you go, if you like food! Many tourists end up trapped in Times Sq which is fine if you're happy with your regular overpriced chain restaurants. IMO it's worth a trip out to Little Italy for a real 'slice' & you'll feel like you've walked straight into the set of Goodfellas (for example). It's such a great city. We have loved each visit & would happily go back. I'm sure the lovely dibbers will provide you with lots more tips Zoe x

Have you thought about getting tickets for a tv show?
We got free tickets in the 'lottery' to see a taping of Late Night with Seth Meyers - It was such fun Zoe x
