Cancelling an ADR question

To avoid the $10 per person fee for a no-show, the Disney website says the reservation must be cancelled "one day prior".

So if I have Chef Mickey ADR at 7am on a Saturday, when is the latest I can cancel to avoid the fine - is it 23:59 on Friday, or does it have to be 24 hours before - i.e 7am on the Friday?

It's 24 hours, so at the latest 7am the day before. Recommend cancelling earlier than that though to avoid any issues.

I was under the impression it was just the day before so up to midnight but I'm not sure I'd risk that.

We called the day before one of ours and was informed we'd normally be charged but they'd waive this as it was due to illness. I wouldn't chance cancelling under 24 hours.

We cancelled an ADR on the day, we went to the CM at the Carriage House at SSR and explained our little one wasn't feeling too well, they cancelled it for us with no charge as it was due to illness.
