recommendations for off site resturants that cater for vegetarians please!

Hi,

We are returning to Florida in August and recently our DD16 had become vegetarian. Looking at the menus of the offsite restaurants we usually visit there isnt a great deal of choice for her with regard to vegetarian options. Can anyone recommend any restaurants that cater well for vegetarians? Most seem to have one option or a salad or am I just looking at the wrong places?

ive heard sweet tomatoes is very good for vegetarians. if you look for Libbys (oh_darlings) food reports, her husband is a vegetarian, might give you a few ideas

You haven't said what your normal places are so it's difficult to suggest alternatives.

Millers gave a veggie menu but you have to ask for it.

Definately Sweet Tomatoes. We are not vegetarian - still we go at least a couple of times each trip as the food is lovely (and it feels good eating a bit healthy).

When we went to Chillis we asked and they made veggie fajitas for my DD. She was very impressed, said they were delicious.

Best veggie burger she had was in Fuddruckers.

Trails end with chef TJ is a must, the best meal you will ever have as a Veggie ( though tell him you are Vegan, as his normal buffet contains veggie stuff ) it is a true special meal, 5 course of heaven ( though make sure you go when chef TJ is on, i booked 2 ADR's one midweek and one weekend, then checked if he was on )

Boma, ask for Chef Matt, he will show you the veggie options ( loads of them ) and if you want anything special, he will hook you up teriyaki tofu is a dish he will cook for you , though even if he isnt on, its still worth a trip, loads of Veggie stuff

Turf club, Ask for Chef Omar, i must admit i havent eaten here, Chef Omar has only just started making a name for himself with Veggies, he is doing nice food according to reports

The Wave, had a Veggie menu

off-site Sweet tomato's is great, very recommended, we loved it here

Bombay Cafe is great for a Indian, 100 % veggie

Millars Ale house was very nice, own Veggie menu, but keep a eye on the food ( our Veggie platter came with potato skins with bacon bits ontop )

Chuey's was very nice, a fair few Veggie stuff, its tex mex type of place, good prices imho

CiCi's pizza was cheap and cheerful, just ask at the counter for a pizza you fancy, mention you are veggie and to use clean tools ( so they are aware )

Another vote for Millers. They had the most options for vegetarians out of all the restaurants we went to.

The other one I know is a bit of a hippy joint on Colonial Drive but we love it there!
