Making Sound Louder in a Video

Does anyone know how to do this?

I am looking to make the audio louder in a video. I guess I would have to strip it from the file, increase the sound, then marry back together - but I have no idea how to do this.

depends on your video editing package, but most should have some sort of rudimentary audio editor where you can adjust the volume and/or "normalize" the sound levels

faliing that, extract into something like audacity (i use izotope rx which is way more advanced) and reimport over the top of the video

try hitfilm express if you're new to video editing, its *very* intuitive compared to most things ive used, and is free unless you need some of the more advanced plugins

thats for hitfilm pro... you can use the express version for free! (and you only need to pay for the additional plugins for stuff like dvd authoring)
