Mobile Point and shoot cameras - Worth it

Ok, so when I go out specifically to take photos I tend to take my DSLR. But when I’m with kids walking or cycling, I often see stuff to shoot and use my iPhone XR and get some great shots. The drawback is lack of zoom. So I was thinking of a decent point and shoot to bridge the gap. Have a budget of around £200 and am currently flip flopping between the canon sx620 and lumix Tz70. Any advice or other alternative suggestions greatly appreciated. Needs to be something I can carry easily in a pocket

Hi, I have a Canon Sx720 which I bought at the beginning of the year and this is the first time I have had a Canon and I love it the x40 zoom is amazing and the picture quality is great - I would definitely recommend.

However, because of the zoom lense, the camera is heavier that a normal point and shoot!

I had a Panasonic TZ40 and used it on a couple of holidays as I couldn't be bothered to take my DSLR with me.
Last year I purchased a Canon M100, and I loved it. Loads of control, really nice photos, and its still fairly small.

I had the same dilemma a few years ago and went for the Lumix lx100. There might be a newer version. Fantastic results and a great high speed lens.
You dont really need high zoom these days as you can crop a fair bit with the high megapixels available. Wide angle is much more important in my view.

Panasonic's TZ range are also excellent, but lens was just a bit too slow for me.
