I may be wrong but I think Margaritaville was built on the site of the Splendid China attraction which was near Formosa Gardens. The quick access to Animal Kingdom would be via Sherberth Road off the 192.

We visited last year, with a view to booking for this year (Which obviously never happened...)
We absolutely LOVED the whole lobby area decor!
We remember being a b bit disappointed how far the pool was from the main building though.
Plenty of walkable-to eateries opening up nearby.
We love the whole Jimmy Buffet/Margaritaville vibe so would consider for a future trip.

You are correct. The Splendid China entrance was off Formosa Gardens Blvd. That area is now the detached villas. The hotel entrance is off 192 with the Sunsetwalk restaurants and small shops in front of it.

Animal Kingdom Lodge is right on the other side of 192 but as you mentioned you have to go east to Sherbeth Road to access it.

Thank you for all the info, we’ve had 15+ trips there but never been to that area so it’s good to hear it’s well situated for Disney.

I'm a big fan of staying in that area too,stayed in a few places on and around the 192, so handy for Disney. I have been looking at staying at the Margaritaville Resort, looks great😀.
