We have done the majority of these walks over the years whilst camping around Dorset, I wouldn't say they were all for softies! The pictured guides to the walks are brilliant,
guess Bournemouth would be the football venue

I live close to the Quantock Hills. You can drive right up on to the top (save the hike up the huge hill) and there are several car parks on the top. All lovely walks you can walk half a mile or ten miles. The views are fantastic - on clear days you can see the Severn Bridge and the coast of South Wales. Thoroughly recommend it. Some nice pubs close by too.
Sorry we don't have a decent football team though - Taunton Town is ours - we're a big cricket town here

Head to Darwen Tower if you visit the Blackburn grounds - fantastic views on a clear day 😊

We live in Deal Kent, and theres a lovely seafront walk between Deal and Walmer Castle.
Or Dover The White Cliffs of Dover (National Trust, but free if in before 9am), Samphire Hoe which is a country park which is made by the chalk from the digging of the Channel tunnel.

It’s 10km, but pretty much all downhill.
We went to IOM with a group of friends last Easter and loved it. We try and pick places where you don't or wouldn't normally think about. The trip the group went on before that was Barra, arrived on a plane that only took 9 people, I think and landed on the beach! We didn't manage that trip.

Anyway, IOM, we did all the trains, buses, crammed so much into our wee break. Went on the electric railway right to the top but unfortunately for us it was a pee souper. Thick mist and a howling wind. Did have a nice cup of tea at the top though. We climbed the Laxy Wheel too. Also did a lap of the TT race on the back of a 3 wheel type motor bike. Great fun. Loved IOM and would love to go back. Everyone was so friendly.

I have been on some amazing walks in the last 12-18 months, I live in SW London and have covered a lot of Central London as well as the Thames and beyond. I suppose football club wise it would be any of the big London clubs or Brentford?
Some of my favourite walks so far have been

LONDON
Waterloo - Southbank - Borough Market - London Bridge - Spittalfields Market - City of London - Waterloo

Chalk Farm - Primrose Hill - St John’s Wood (Abbey Road studios) - Little Venice - Portobello Market - Notting Hill - Kensington Gardens - Hyde Park Corner

Knightsbridge - Hyde Park - Regents Park - Regents Canal - Camden Market - Kings Cross

Waterloo - Houses of Parliament - Westminster Abbey - Buckingham Palace - St James’ Park - Trafalgar Square - Downing Street - Embankment - Covent Garden

Hampstead Heath - Highgate Cemetery

RIVER THAMES (tow path)
Weybridge - Hampton Court - Weybridge

Runnymede - Datchet - Windsor - Home Park - Runnymede

Windsor - Eton - Dorney Lake - Windsor

Teddington Lock - Ham - Richmond - Richmond Park - Teddington

RIVER WEY
We walked the whole section from Godalming to the Thames Lock in Weybridge in 4 separate walks. It’s more of a canal and most of it is quiet and serene, just you and the ducks!

SURREY
Also walked part of the Tillingbourne Stream from Chilworth to Shere through Albury and back again.

Also Box Hill from top to bottom and back up again (probably the most strenuous after a pub lunch!)

*may contain hills but;
Wolverhampton /Telford you can climb the wrekin. (circular) Plus other walks in Shropshire.
There is also the Wolverhampton to Birmingham canal. (as far as you want and can turn back on your self)
Nearby is Cannock chase an area of outstanding national beauty with many nice trails. Also chase water. (most trails circular as far as I know)

Yorkshire. Longer than the 5 miles but you can walk along the canal from Leeds to Saltaire a world heritage site.
(This was 14 miles but could easily be resuced and caught the train back.)
Lots of rspb reserves along the river aire which can be combined with the river. (Circular)
Ilkey Moor - the cow and calf. (lots of paths but can make a circular walk)

Lots of walks in the Yorkshire dales. Pateley Bridge to brimham rocks. (We walked there and back not sure otherwise) we have a book somewhere listing then (and for the peaks and lakes as well).

One of my favourite walks is a coastal walk from Flamborough to Bempton. Right time of year you see puffins and ganets and many more birds. (this is about 6 m in one direction. You could find a closer point to walk to bempton from. North Landing reduces to 4 miles each way)

Huddersfield you can walk round Scammonden dam. (circular)

We have just done various walks in the south west coast path which runs all round Devon Cornwall and into Dorset. Takes in all of the jurassic coast. Including Durdle Door and Lulworth (and back) Paignton to Brixham or Torquay /babbacombe was nice too. (
Walk one way bus back?)
Weymouth and Portland also part off the path which finishes in Poole.
Oh adding we walked from Poole to sandbanks and caught the bus back.

You can walk up Glastonbury Tor (circular) . Public footpath next to Stonehenge. Two cool things to do is passing.

All I can think of for now.

Thanks for all the effort - and smith Lane and others too

One question - this applies to several of your walks and others from other posters

How do you ‘ return to A ‘ from these walks where the suggested walk is A to B !
I have only ever done walks that have been circular
