It was really popular and also the tv show so a bit shocking it’s shut and a shame.

If you want cakes take a look at Borough Market 🍰🎂🍪🍩
I went to Borough market last year I must of missed the cakes, I wasn't impressed much, we had a nice sausage roll, a not so nice samosa, steak and chips for £10 each. The steak was small but very nice and mostly lettuce and a few chips, I came away feeling poor but not like I’d eaten anything. It was like a buffet at a party where you need a McDonald’s on the way home!

Loads of choice for food in that area. A few minutes walk from Leadenhall Market. Worth a visit just to see the place.

There's a Doughnut Time across the road from the SkyGarden building too. If you like crazy doughnuts they're worth a look.

Prosciutto ham. It is an Italian deli that serves charcuterie and other things.

If it is the weekend a lot will be shut in the area as they only trade in the week. In that case head up towards St Paul's or down to St Katherine's docks for choice for food.

In the week the area will be open although at lunchtime very busy with office workers. No real chains round there as it isn't a tourist area. I would still head to one of the areas above.

Friday is fine. I only ever go to London during the week. I can see why loads of places around there would be closed at the weekends. It seems that no one that works in London can feed themselves. These places are packed at lunch times. I guess half their wages goes on food and the other half on travel costs
