Yes they got us home the next day, late in the day and kids were so tired and cranky. We had to go on standby but we did get on.

No compensation as it was an act of God, weather delays don't count. Insurance didn't cover it either as we got home in the end. Only over 24 hours later than we should have.

Would anyone else book at this price or do you think it’s best to wait until the virgin/BA flights are released for our dates?
I would but then again I’m used to paying peak holiday prices. I’d be over the moon if I could get that price in July/Aug.

First time going in the summer holidays, wow is it expensive!

27th July to 8th August. Going to wait until the middle of october but that's more hope than anything concrete.

Trying to avoid a lay over in JFK after to many horror stories.

Booked a couple of weeks ago on VA website.
MAN - MCO (Direct) with VA including luggage for 2 adults, 1 teen (14), 1 child (10) from 9th July - 27th July.
£2100
I’ve checked a couple of days ago and they were £3800
Think I got a bargain now and am really happy

Part of the reason DIY is so cheap is that you are paying roughly what the travel agent does and saving money by bit using their services.

Given all the other posts on this thread and the prices I posted earlier, I'd be amazed if this isn't direct with BA.
