Car. Hire on our next trip down £20 on an intermediate SUV for our 35 day hire with 2 drivers £690 it's come down over £100 since I booked in December
November / December trip 40 days has gone up slightly but will keep checking
Alamo Brits works out cheaper for us withnthe length of time we stay and 2drivers

Thanks Gryff. Brits' pricing is... erratic.

I booked 7 person passenger van last August for three weeks this coming July(!) with Brits, and the price came out to about £850...which I thought at the time as steep.

Then last September, the same booking costed an extra £1,000 more ...it's settled at about £1,300 for the last two months.

It comes to something when I'm now thinking £850 is a bargain

just checked for 2 weeks in october, (both at the start and also during half term) and the prices start at £540!

ive not booked a car in a couple of years, but this seems excessive, its normally £200-250ish (basic car) - surely it hasnt gone up by *that* much?!

All with Alamo via 3rd parties for an intermediate SUV.

July 2013 - 28 days £420

May 2017 - 18 days £388

July 2020 - 18 days £497

It’s definitely getting more expensive each year

Wanye.
Try Auto Europe and select the Max option to get a free upgrade.
I am seeing £321 for an Intermediate and they will give you a Full Size saloon for that price.
Or £304 for a Compact and get a free upgrade to an Intermediate.

Thats for the 3rd - 17th. Same prices for 17th - 31st. Bit more for the in between week.

Just checked for my dates this coming August (15th thru 22 inclusive, Luxury car)... a month or so ago, Alamo Brits were asking well over £600, now it's down to £367. Still not getting close to the £295 I paid thru Virgin/Alamo, but not quite as bonkers as it has been of late!
