As above - I always plan 3 per day, even on rest days in case plans change (for instance, if a planned day at a water park is cancelled due to the weather).

Yep! Seems strange not to to be honest ... even if you're not a 'planner' and don't want to spend time doing it, you may as well book something / anything...

I always do and I don’t get why you wouldn’t given that it’s a free service however if she’s adamant I wouldn’t waste any more energy trying to convince her.

Perhaps you could show her the wait times for certain rides and ask if she really wants to stand in a queue for 180 minutes at least once a day.
Even if she books them she doesn't need to stick to them if they change plans

I always book for every day ... have been known to change times /days nearer the time..Going on the FP's available on the day they are usually the walk on rides anyway. I try to book the longer wait rides I really wouldn't wait a couple of hours . I rely on those 4 FP's and if the queue's are too long I am satisfied with having those and just taking the holiday at a more relaxed pace. Like someone said earlier I wouldn't waste my time explaining it sounds like you have tried...Some people think they know better and may regret not taking your advice but at least you have tried.

I have planned which days I am doing in which parks, so will book my fast passes accordingly. However a colleague went in August, so a busy time, and didn't know about fastpass+, so didn't book any. He said he still did all the rides they wanted in standby queues. When I told him about fast pass+ he said he probably still wouldn't have used it as they wanted flexibility about where they went each day.

That said, even though I will book the days I want, I am still going to book them for other days - ie days currently planned for Universal, in case our plans change. I imagine there are a lot of fast passes not used because people book them and then don't turn up, which makes it quicker for the standby queues.

I find it so bizarre that people that spend say more than three quarters of the day, (I am being conservative as most rides are less than five minutes and most queues over forty-five), in queues, find this gives them more flexibility.

We had our 5th trip in november, this is their 1st. I'm not an expert at all but this makes sense surely?! I give up now, it's their holiday, their money and their time!
But thanks for the replies- knew I was right! 🤣
