Rip Ride Rocket- What does it compare to?
I’ve stupidly told my thrill seeking son that I might be brave and go on RipRide Rocket this summer. Though I’ve ridden many rollercoasters, I don’t really like drops. Now if it had an over shoulder harness, the ride wouldn’t bother me at all (I like being able to cling on). I love Hulk/Kraken/Manta/Aerosmith Rock n rollercoaster/dragon challenge. Did not like Tower of Terror in Hollywood Studios and I wasn’t over keen on Hollywood Dream in Universal Japan which appears quite similar in terms of you get to listen to music/has a few drops but you don’t have the vertical ascent. So fellow dibbers who were scared and faced your fear, how bad did you find it? Were there any rolllercoasters you found it similar to? I want to be brave and do it- mainly to shut DS up! 😂

A bit like Oblivion at Alton Towers. Up there with the best and most thrilling coasters.

My then 8 year old declared it his favourite ride in 2017! I’ve promised him I’ll do it next time, the things we do for our kids!😭
Although I have managed oblivion so if it’s like that hopefully I’ll cope, but like you I like over the shoulder restraints. I like to feel pinned down! |

It’s a waist harness from memory - but you can (will) certainly still cling on!
It’s just another coaster - but it’s very fun, especially if you plan and pick the song that plays as you’re going round. |

I found RRR more uncomfortable than scary. A couple of the twists have vicious g-force and I found the seat and head support hard and not very supportive. I've been on it a few times and it is a great ride but won't be doing it again. The last time I thought I had whiplash when I got off. Rockin roller coaster is more my thing I think. 😀

Bit like what I'd imagine doing a spin cycle in a washer feels like It's good but it's pretty rough.

I’m not a fan of rollercoasters - she says whilst planning the third trip to Orlando! I went on this and chose “I’ll survive” as my music! Watched the video at the end and I looked genuinely petrified much to the amusement of DH and the kids! Would never get me on Hulk!

I have never ridden it, I looked at it and thought no, I would rather dig my eyeballs out with a spoon, but I am a chicken, my husband loved it but it does throw you around he said
