Mobile Dubai / UAE Travel Ban

Surprised this hasn’t been picked up by any major network:

gulftoday.ae/news/2020/0...lared-pandemic

It’s my understanding you get a visitor visa on arrival so presumably this ban applies to UK residents?

We are due to go to Dubai on 5th April and have today been told the visa situation currently does not include the UK so we can still get a visitor visa on arrival. The foreign office website has also been updated since this morning to state this too. Our travel company also sent me this link to Dubai airports that provides a list of countries with restrictions;
dubaiairports.ae/alert/l...s9CsAp6xO8VAiI

I know this can change at any moment so we're really not too sure what to do at the moment. If we cancel we won't get a refund as the Foreign advice isn't specifically saying don't travel at the moment. We may be able to change dates but will have to pay the difference in price which for alternative school holiday dates is double what we paid

We are supposed to go late April but preparing ourselves to not going as things are only going to get worse over the next few weeks/months

We are following this too as we are due to go April.

Trip Adviser Dubai Forum is a good one to follow for updates with the regulars on there posting some really level headed advice and updates.
People are posting how its panning out in individual hotels and how they are implementing changes.
I know Emirates Holidays have said you can amend dates with no amendment fees... but it sounds like people are waiting hours on the phone to do this. I'm hoping it all calms down or that the FCO just pull the plug so we can get a refund.

We are in exactly the same position & due to fly the same day as you. I really want the Foreign office to say we can’t go, either that or Ireland as we are flying out of Dublin. It’s also getting through to someone to be able to change as I can’t seem to do it online. If we are able to change we will have to go in October half term but has you say prices are higher

I’m hoping the FCO just pulls the plug as well. My friend lives there and so much is closed & closing that it would not be the holiday we want
