I've had the same email (our trip is in December). It's just a standard email, primarily telling you that the stores are closing.
It doesn't really change anything, if you have a booking you need to keep inside the T&Cs so that when they do announce that your dates are cancelled you will be entitled to a full cash refund. From your earlier post it sounds like you have been making monthly payments ahead of the payment deadline? You don't need to do that contractually do you? Keep the cash in your account until your payment deadline. The other thing to consider is that the payments you've made over and above the deposit should be refundable in full if you cancel for any reason (you only forfeit the deposit amount). In September I'll be tossing up whether to just forfeit my deposit if I think it's unlikely I'll have a decent holiday (suppose parks are only partially reopened). |

The people who I can see getting "screwed" here (myself included) are those DIYers with fully paid flights. I know I can cancel villa with no cost up to mid May and I'm pretty confident that Disney will soon offer free cancellation for my dates (mid July). Likewise car hire can be cancelled no problem.
That leaves the big issue of flights. I can forsee a situation by July where flights are running but no one sensible wold really want to go - as opposed to FCO saying don't go. In that case flights non-refundable. |

Yep
I'm thinking this will apply from July 1st (or even a week earlier), because thats the school hols in UK and Ireland. If the current situation prevails. There isn't a hope of me going this July.

We're already resigned to losing the 2K we spent. It is on a credit card, so we potentially have an avenue there if flights are banned.
We were also nervous about a short connection time (2Hrs), which looks even shorter if there are even the slightest extra checks, even if numbers on flights are low.

We spent 3k on flight only with tui and got a car with Andy and paid 200$ deposit on a villa.
Our date is 20july. What I’d like is not to pay anymore for the villa with an agreement if a week before they say flights are on then we’ll go cos if the restriction is lifted we won’t get refunded. I’d pay the villa at that time. I know the villa people would want the monies in May but if I have to do that I’d cancel the villa cos I doubt the insurance would be happy. I’m not sure if that would be fair but they are probably thinking it’s likely to be empty also for our weeks. Also there must be loads getting cancelled. It’s such a shame it will have an impact for many a year. Villa owners I’m afraid will have to start accepting payment by cc, not sure how difficult that is. |

I’m guessing you paid each part by cc.
I think you’ll be going in October. |
