yes it is. Pic a bit rubbish as he flys off as soon as we go to window. There are two and not sure if they are a pair as they look alike and don’t know if males and females look the same

We have seen and heard more birds than ever up here. In fact the fat barrels in the bird food hanger are going down nicely. The rats next door aren’t getting a look in thank goodness. The squirrels are active too and the foxes are running around. I swear I heard a hedgehog last week under a hedge on my way to work one day.

We have chaffinches, goldfinches and greenfinches as well as sparrows, blackbirds, collared doves and wood pigeons etc in our garden - the sunflower hearts don't last a day! We also have bluetits going in and out of our nesting box.

We don't normally get many birds here but these last few weeks I've been woken by a cacophony of bird song.

This morning - reckon it was 4am - there was a beautiful bird song - to the point where I went online at 4am listening to bird aongs to try and Identify it - to no avail. I'm hoping it's out tomorrow and I'll try and record it

So 03:40 this morning they started twittering on this morning... oh the joys three pigeons cooing on the chimney pots two crows cawing a lesser spotted woodpecker drilling a tree trunk and lots of sparrows blue tits, coal tits, chaffinches and robins started bobbing around and fluttering past the windows.. then the startling started their nonsense. No lack of birds up here. Just waiting if the Canada geese and ducks now...

The results of the RSPB birdwatch came out today for those who took part. No surprises, sparrows down again though

I followed this from when it was first broadcast on the BBC.

Mass deaths of Starlings up in N. Wales. Most weird.

“It’s highly likely the murmuration took avoiding action whilst airborne, from possibly a bird of prey, with the rear of the group not pulling up in time and striking the ground.
