For me it's the retailer responsibility (name and shame).
Alternatively if you purchased with a credit card you can go back via them.
Item clearly "not fit for purpose".

I have installed thousands of TVs and if it was me I would set it up as my previous post. I only see a very few TVs faulty out of the box, you might need a professional to come and check it out for you and set it up. I dont mean the delivery men setting it up they havent a clue.

The screen goes black like this for a second or two. Sound still works.
Happens on both Apple TV and PlayStation.
Have changed everything. Gone though all the settings. Hubby is an engineer so knows how to set TVs up etc

The service centre did a soak test but it said no fault found.

If we connect everything direct to tv not issues.

Have you a friend or family member whose TV you could try the soundbar with? If it works then you'll know it's ok.

Well then connect it direct to the tv with good hdmi leads and use a optical lead from the tv to the soundbar.
Also if everything works fine without the soundbar and when you connect the soundbar it goes faulty that says to me the tv is fine the fault is the soundbar.

Its a Sony ht st 5000
They dont recommend doing it this way as optical connection doesnt support Dolby atmos etc.

We also do not have an optical port on the tv.

This soundbar was bought so we could use the Dolby atmos 7.1 something or other.

Hubby is very very up on technology and this was the best one recommended for what we wanted to achieve

Its a new tv so it will have a optical port, I never connect via hdmi because there are always problems, but Ive only been installing aerial and setting up TVs for over 33 years.
