Was this BA offer to upgrade to WT Plus a bargin?
Travelling to MCO on Monday and had booked
BA WT going and WT Plus coming back. Just took a look at my booking and saw the offer to upgrade on Monday to WT Plus for £279 so took up the offer. Is this the usual cost nowadays to upgrade to WT Plus?

Anyway , I upgraded us for last November flight 6 months before and only (! ) paid £120 each . Well worth it for us . Maybe you are paying so much as you are upgrading so close to departure ? Anyway enjoy the upgrade and your upcoming holiday , the temps there look fantastic compared to here , lol !

We upgraded for our flights earlier this year and it was £150 each each way. We thought it was worth it and my husband even managed to get some sleep on the flight (which never happens). Enjoy the upgrade.

I guess the cost depends on so many factors. I think we paid just over £100 each to upgrade to WT+. I wouldn’t pay much more than £150-£175 as I didn’t feel it was worth more than that. Just my opinion of course. If your happy with the upgrade , just go and enjoy. It’s definitely a slightly better experience than economy. Just ! Even if it’s just for the extra luggage and smaller cabin.

Objectively, it’s at the upper end of what BA would typically ask for an online upgrade to WTP for an East Coast USA route, but not way over.
The “value” is entirely subjective, depending on a range of factors including what the extras mean to you, how much you’ve paid for the original ticket and what the actual cash means (ie would you have to go without something else to pay this). Not expecting you to answer any of those points, just highlighting how subjective it is. If you will have a better experience and be happier without breaking the bank, it’s probably well worth it. Enjoy. |

Thanks all. I always book 'plus' coming back to the UK anyway as I go with one case inside another for the loads of shopping I always manage to do.
Anyway as I'm celebrating taking early retirement together with voluntary redundancy (which I didn't know would happen when I booked this holiday in Febuary) it seems even better to splash the cash a little.

Definitely. If you can afford it and you like a bit more space and comfort, I think you've done the right thing,
Also have you added the cost of this upgrade to the price you originally paid ? How does it compare to a booking if you made it today ? Have a great time, enjoy the shopping ! |

It seems like a good deal to me. There is normally much more than a £279 (each way) difference between economy and premium economy on BA flights.

Defo...I booked during the sales so the cost for WT going and WT Plus coming back was £620 (which for travelling this time of year is a really good price)...so now in total flights have cost me £899.
