my heart goes out to you all. My brother was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia when he was 19. It was heartbreaking as his daughter had been born in the October and he was diagnosed in the Feb (after an initial diagnosis of Lumbego). It took ages for them to be able to treat him as he was also anaemic. I know the situation is more complicated for your son but I do remember my mum being told that at 19 he was still technically on the child side of the disease and that as harsh as it sounded, that was far better for treatment and future prognosis. Now, well his daughter is now 22, he's a healthy 41 year old and has had no further issues. He had a bone marrow transplant from my other brother. I am on the register and would encourage everyone to join if they can.

Good luck to you all, I really, really hope for as positive an outcome.

It is so unfair for anyone but especially with someone so young. My friend's sister was diagnosed at aged 2 and we were all told it didn't look positive however being young helped her and she is now 33 and has a 3 year old child which she was told she would never have. Keeping everything crossed for a speedy recovery. Hugs to you and your family.
