You know how long ago that was done. Does it still exist? I think security concerns were not quite as fraught as then.

Edited to add: You appear to be talking about St George's House, which is a bit different to what you propose for Frogmore Cottage.

Frogmore could be used as a head office of a mental health charity or something to do with a charity, I'm sure they wouldn't mind, they could always stay with Charles when visiting.

Frogmore House is half a mile away from Windsor Castle. Screening a small amount of people and keeping them contained around a certain area half a mile from the castle should be no issue. If you or I go into Bucks Palace we are much closer to the Queen. I went without any notice the other week into the House of Commons and House of Lords- just a security check, no background check.
I definitely think this is a good idea and good use of our taxpayer asset. Or maybe use it as a charity office, as suggested above.

It was quite quick especially compared with his ten years to get engaged but I suspect most men in their 30s wouldn’t appreciate their big brother telling them they were making a mistake getting married.
Royal or not that kind of thing easily leads to family rifts.
Apparently? So a rumour then? I’ve seen interviews with him saying he was delighted for the couple, but nothing else (but then, although I’m interested in them, I don’t religiously keep up with the Royals).

My interpretation of the situation is that Harry has changed considerably since meeting Meghan. Understandable, he is now a married man with a child, but his spark seems to have gone, the fun loving side of him seems to have vanished. And the disrespect he has shown his Grandmother by not consulting with her about this latest decision seems completely out of character.

But... they need to do what’s right for their little family, and good luck to them. I just hope it’s what they ‘both’ really want.

I like Morgan and he was a client I dealt with on a regular basis when he worked on the tabloids however having listened to him blathering on it appears he and Meghan networked when she first came to the U.K. (not unexpected as they will share acquaintances as he’s also worked in the industry in the States). He doesn’t appear to make a point of friendships or socialising with young single actresses (as you’d expect from a married man with young kids) . I don’t believe there was a friendship to drop merely an acquaintanceship and one she was advised to drop once she and Harry got together (would you trust him not to gossip about you once you started dating a prince ?). I think it hurt his ego which is rather large.

All we know for sure is that there was a rift after they got engaged and Harry said on the latest interview he did that they are not currently close .
I did wonder if Charles refused to consider the stepping down so protocol meant Harry couldn’t take it to the Queen so they had to force the issue. It would certainly explain their long holiday in Canada rather than splitting themselves between both families for Christmas and New Year if there was some disagreement with Charles ... who knows.
The Queen must wonder whatever will become of the monarchy after she dies.

Don’t let that spoil a resentful rant though ... it’s like “their house” not their house, not paid for with tax payers money but from Crown funds and the house was on the renovation schedule before the couple even met but it doesn’t stop the moaning . I’ve never quite understood the viciousness towards the two of them yet Andrew gets off unscathed in the main , it’s easy to wonder if Meghan’s race is the difference .
How to bury a big story? Create a bigger one.

I would not be surprised if this is a well organised smokescreen from The Firm

It’s a very strange and unnecessary thing for Harry to have said, even if it is true. I’m going to add to the assumptions and put across the idea that perhaps he said it to appease a jealous wife.

*runs for the hills...

Charles has been quite clear regarding his plans to ‘shrink’ the number of senior royal family members and focus on direct heirs. There have been multiple photos released in the last 2 weeks of the Queen and her three heirs.
Following the experience of himself as a young boy, the experiences of his mother and now those of his wife I’m not shocked now he has his son they are looking to live on their own terms. The bit that does shock me is that it wasn’t privately discussed with Buckingham Palace ahead of the statement release!
eholmes on Instagram is a great follow on this topic, generally focuses on royal fashion and the thoughts behind it - but a good sounding board for other royal announcements.

My own DS changed 100% when he met his wife - he would call me 2-3 times a day some days - now I havent spoken to him for over 3 years.
I am pretty sure this is not all of his own making even though I welcomed his girlfriend/wife into our lives without reservation.
