Hire car USB sockets?

As we all probably know, most UK modern cars come with USB sockets, however is this the case on hire cars in the US? I'm planning to use my sat nav, dash cam and hopefully USB stick for music or do I invest in a cigarette lighter socket?

I don't think we've ever not had them - both up front and in the console for rear passengers. However, we still take a spare socket just in case.

Most new hires we've had recently have had a USB socket. That said the charge can be faiirly minimal and taking the right 12v charger you'll chare your gadgets more quickly

take some musik on a usb with you as you can play music through the usb
